Prayer Shift 2

I have been reading 1 Samuel this week and as I was reading the story in Chapter 3 when God kept speaking to Samuel and he thought it was Eli not God waking him up so he kept going to Eli and asking him what he wanted. Finally Eli said, it's God talking to you, not me! Then he tells him next time he calls you say SPEAK LORD, YOUR SERVANT IS LISTENING.

That should be what I say but more often what I say is something closer to LISTEN GOD, YOUR SERVANT IS SPEAKING.

What if before any conversation I had today I would pray SPEAK LORD, YOUR SERVANT IS LISTENING.
  • before I go to Numan
  • before I got into Panera Bread to get a bagel
  • before I go and drop off some papers at a house
  • before I go and pay for gad
  • before I order my lunch
  • before I have meetings at work
  • before I get to go home and be with my wife
  • before I eat dinner with our neighbors
  • before I pray

I hope that it would radically redefine the way i approach conversations. I would instantly listen more then I speak, which is never a bad habbit to get into! People who once would have seemed insignifigant to me become of the utmost importance. I am learning lately that GOD IS ALWAYS SPEAKING, THE QUESTION FOR ME IS WHEN AM I LISTENING?
