Monday Morning

On Sundays at Saint James I usually go up and welcome everybody to get the service started. We have three services so at the 8am service I usually do the welcome and then leave the service to get some more work done before the 930 service. Well last week I came into my office like usual and ran into Walter one of our pastors here. We were talking about the Auburn game and a few other things. Then we hear somebody storming back to my office yelling my name telling me to stop talking.

When i got off of the stage my microphone never got turned off and EVERYONE in the sanctuary heard every word of the conversation Walter and I had. When we found out what had happened i got sick to my stomach hoping I hadn't said anything I would regret or have to go back on stage and apoligize for! (Luckily the only thing bad I said was about football coach's who don't go to our Church)

Words are powerful. We need to choose them wisely in all circumstances. 1 Peter 4:11 says, If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God....so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.

We should be praying that in every situation the words that come out of my mouth would be the words God himself would speak. I am learning to live and speak as if the microphone is always on.
