Decisions

Every day we make thousands of decisions. Some are so simple that our instincts make them for us. It’s those decisions with big implications that we struggle with. In 1 Samuel 24 there is a story about two guys: David (wanted to be king) and Saul (was king). Saul had been chasing David trying to kill him for quite a while. In the strangest of circumstances, they met. David was hiding in the back of a cave when Saul came in the exact same random cave to go to the bathroom! Of all the caves in the world, how did Saul end up in the same one? It seemed like God’s timing for David to become king by force. But David knew that it wasn’t.

Sometimes making good decisions keeps us from making great ones.

I always want to make the right decision, and to help me, I always remember this: Most things of God have a short-term negative and long-term positive. Things not of God have a short-term positive and a long-term negative.

Think about it in terms of….
What you eat
What you drink
What you say
How you spend your money
The time you spend with God seeking his direction

Nobody has ever said “I wish I would have eaten worse yesterday.”

In light of your past, present and future circumstances what is the right decision for you to make today?
