Church Freak Out

Being a pastor I tend to view everything through the filter of what could the Church learn from this? When you walk out of our local Target, there is a huge banner on the wall that explains that 5% of all the money Target makes goes back into the local community. So if Target left town, it would effect more than just Target.

Burger King just came out with a really funny new add campaign called whopperfreakout.com They go to their stores and pretend to have taken the whopper off the menu and film the customers reactions to the news. It's great -- people really freak out!

Here is the brilliant question of the day: Would people react more to your Church or Whoppers leaving town? Whoppers leaving means a need (as perceived and crazy as it may seem) will be unmet, just go to the website and watch. If your Church were to leave town, how many needs, (real needs this time,) would go unmet? Does your church tithe? Does it give more back to the Community then Target?

If your church closed down today, who would care except for your members?

Do we bring more to the table than a whopper?
