756Heard a great interview with Mark Echo on The Heard today. (the heard is a sports talk radio show on espn radio) He is the guy who bought Barry Bond's record breaking home run and what is doing with it is fascinating. There has been so much debate over the ball and He said sports fans rarely have any say in what actually happens in sports so he bought the ball to give them a say. You can go to his site www.vote756.com and vote for what to do with the ball. The options are: 1.Send the ball to Cooperstown 2.Burn an asterisk into the ball and then send it to Cooperstown 3.Shoot the ball into space to never be seen again! He is dead serious about this and it is really a brilliant marketing ploy for himself. For what it's worth I am voting for number 2. It will be the symbol of an era for generations of people to see and be reminded of Steroids. I would say shoot it to the moon if Bond's was even the least bit remorseful. You can also see a video of Echo on the Today show here. |
