I have mentioned my brother on here a few times before but if you don't know him he is a 24 year old Pastor in Southern Indiana and the guy needs some prayer this morning.

He works a lot with the youth and about a year ago a kid came to the church and really connected with Ryan. To make an extremely long story short, Cody had a horrible family situation and ended up in a youth detention center. Over the past few months Ryan gets up at 4am to be on the road for four hours to visit Cody for two hours and then drive back home another four hours.

Ryan is literally the only thing this guy has going for him in the world. Well here is where the prayer comes in. Cody is due to get out of jail in the next couple months and the state is in the process of setting up where he will go. They keep pushing for him to go to his grandparents house which is ultimately a bad situation. Ryan however who is single and 24 has offered to be his foster parent for the next two years! What a HUGE sacrifice that is for him. Normally I would be extremely cautious of a 24 year old adopting a 16 year old but it is so clear that God has brought Ryan into his life and Ryan has prayed and prayed to know this is the right thing.

Ryan called his State Representative to get involved when it looked like the court was going to send him to his Grandparents and proved to him that His house is the best place for Cody. So the Rep is meeting RIGHT NOW with the court to decide Cody and Ryan's future.

This meeting could potentially change Cody's entire life. He is just about to get out of the cycle of violence and poverty that he has been trapped in his entire life.
